Obsidian Challenge Complete Rules & Overview

The World's First 4-Phase Challenge

Updated this week

We invented this. When we launched Obsidian in 2025, no other prop firm had a 4-phase challenge. We were first.

Why 4 phases? More phases = smaller targets per phase. The smallest individual targets in our lineup.

No time limit. No minimum trading days. Hit each target and move forward.

Key benefits:

  • Micro-targets: just 2%, 2%, 2%, 2%

  • 10% Static Maximum Loss in Challenge (fixed, never moves)

  • 1:100 leverage

  • 99% profit split

  • No time limit

  • No minimum trading days

  • Funding up to $1,500,000

Who Is Obsidian For?

Traders who want the smallest possible targets per phase, at the lowest possible price.

You want a low-cost entry. $169 for a $100K account. A budget-friendly path to funding.

You like micro-targets. 2%, 2%, 2%, 2%. No phase asks for more than 2%. The smallest individual targets we offer.

You want zero time pressure. No deadline. Take a week, take a month, take a year.

You prefer Static DD in evaluation. 10% fixed limit in challenge phases.

This is for patient traders who want micro-milestones. Four small wins. Four confidence builders. Four steps to funding.

Why 4 Phases?

More phases = smaller targets. Obsidian has the smallest individual phase targets in our lineup.

Challenge Phases

Phase 1. Make 2%

Profit Target: 2%. Daily Drawdown: 6%. Static Maximum Loss: 10%. Time Limit: Unlimited.

Phase 2. Make 2%

Same rules as Phase 1. Same target, same limits. Hit 2% and move on.

Phase 3. Make 2%

Profit target increases to 2%. On a $100,000 account, that's $2,000.

Phase 4. Make 2%

Close your positions, hit the number, and you're through.

Static Maximum Loss Explained (Challenge)

Your stop-out level is fixed at 10% below starting balance. It never moves, regardless of your profits.

Example on a $100,000 account:

Scenario

BREACH

Unlike Dynamic DD, your stop-out doesn't chase your profits. You always know exactly where the line is.

Funded Phase. This Is Where It Counts

You passed all four phases. Now the rules tighten.

Daily Drawdown: 3%

On a $100,000 funded account, your maximum daily loss is $3,000.

Dynamic Risk Shield: 5%

In the funded phase, your max loss becomes Dynamic. It moves UP with your profits.

How it works:

  • Starts at 5% below your initial balance

  • Moves UP as you make profits

  • Never moves down

  • Locks at initial balance once reached

Example on a $100,000 account:

Scenario

Equity

Shield Level

BREACH

Max Single Trade Loss: 3%

No single trade may exceed 3% loss of your initial funded balance.

$200,000

$6,000

$500,000

Splitting trades into multiple positions on the same instrument in the same direction counts as one trade. Violating this rule is a HARD BREACH. Your account will be terminated.

Payout Requirement: 1%

Generate at least 1% profit from your initial balance before each withdrawal.

Account Size

Min Profit Before Payout

$25,000

$50,000

$500,000

$5,000

No minimum trading days. Trade at your pace. Applies to each payout separately. Resets after each withdrawal. Only closed trades count.

Best Day Rule: 20%

No single trading day can represent more than 20% of your total withdrawal amount.

This is a SOFT rule. It does NOT breach your account. It only delays your payout until your profit distribution is more balanced.

Example: You want to withdraw $10,000. Your best day must be $2,000 or less.

Trying to bypass this by splitting a large winning position, hedging or closing parts separately, is not allowed.

Profit Split: 99%

You keep 99% of everything you make.

Funded Breach Conditions

Your account will be terminated if:

  • Equity drops below Dynamic Risk Shield (5%)

  • Daily loss exceeds 3%

  • Single trade loss exceeds 3%

  • Prohibited trading strategy detected
