The short answer
Upcomers’ published Futures policy schedules open positions to close at 4:50 PM ET (3:50 PM CT), before the daily break. Do not plan to hold through the break or weekend. The account’s daily drawdown and EOD calculation use 5:00 PM ET. Actual trading hours vary by contract and holiday.
The account clock
Event | New York time | Central time |
Scheduled Upcomers position close | 4:50 PM ET | 3:50 PM CT |
Daily drawdown reset and EOD calculation | 5:00 PM ET | 4:00 PM CT |
Typical reopen for many non-crypto Globex contracts | 6:00 PM ET | 5:00 PM CT |
These times follow US daylight saving. ET is one hour ahead of CT. The account reset does not mean the exchange is open, and a scheduled close is not a guarantee of execution during a halt or pricing interruption.
Exchange hours vary by contract
Many index, metals, energy and FX futures have a Sunday-evening-to-Friday schedule with a daily maintenance break. Grains and livestock use different sessions, and individual contracts can have additional pauses. One universal timetable does not cover every CME product.
CME introduced 24/7 cryptocurrency futures trading in 2026, subject to maintenance. That exchange schedule does not automatically change Upcomers’ holding rules or the availability of a symbol on your platform.
Check the contract’s platform specification and CME’s current trading-hours calendar before trading, especially around holidays. Do not rely on a permanent list of holiday closures or early-close times.
RTH and ETH
Regular Trading Hours (RTH) and Extended/Electronic Trading Hours (ETH) are session labels used in charts and market analysis. Their definitions vary by contract and platform. A chart session does not override the instrument’s tradable hours or your account’s rules.
The 5:00 PM ET reset
The daily floor is recalculated from the higher of balance or equity at reset. The percentage depends on your program and size; it is not a fixed dollar amount that refills after a loss. EOD trailing floors are updated from completed daily closing balances.
See daily drawdown and trailing drawdown for the current rates and examples.
Before a break, holiday or weekend
Check the instrument schedule, close positions as required, and allow time for thin liquidity or early closures. Never assume an order can execute while the exchange is halted or closed. If your platform shows a different schedule, contact support before relying on it.
