Futures: Apex (Instant Funding) Complete Rules & Overview

Apex instant funding on futures ($25K–$150K): no consistency rule, 3% EOD drawdown, limits by size, payout conditions and payout caps (same as Vanguard Futures).

This article is about Upcomers Futures (CME futures on Upcomers X and Volumetrica).

The Short Answer

Apex is Upcomers Futures instant funding with no consistency rule. There is no evaluation: you start on a funded account and trade the funded rules from your very first trade.

Apex comes in $25K, $50K, $100K and $150K. It uses a 3% EOD trailing drawdown, a daily loss limit from $50K up, and a contract limit per size. Each payout requires 6% profit and at least 5 trading days, and payouts open 14 days after the account starts, then every 14 days. Payout caps are the same as on Vanguard Futures.

Which rules apply

The limits below describe currently offered accounts. For an existing account, use the rules assigned to it in your dashboard.

What Apex is

Apex is an instant funding program in the Upcomers Futures lineup. There is no challenge to pass and no Trial Phase: you buy the account, it is funded, and you trade the funded rules straight away on Upcomers X or Volumetrica.

Unlike Vanguard, Apex has no Best Day (consistency) rule: one strong day does not hold back your payout.

The floor is recalculated at 5:00 PM ET from the highest closing balance of a completed trading day. It only moves upward and locks at your initial balance. Live equity must stay above the active floor. Open profit does not raise the floor during the day.

Calculation: highest closing balance × (1 − 3%), capped at your initial balance.

$25K example: the initial floor is $24,250. A close at $25,500 raises it to $24,735. A close at approximately $25,773.20 reaches the $25,000 lock level.

$100K example: the initial floor is $97,000. A close at $102,000 raises it to $98,940. A close at approximately $103,092.78 reaches the $100,000 lock level.

A payout reduces your balance but does not lower the floor. Leave enough room for subsequent trading.

Daily loss limit

There is no daily loss limit on $25K. On $50K the limit is $1,000, on $100K $2,000 and on $150K $3,000. It resets at 5:00 PM ET.

A fresh day recalculates the limit; it does not restore losses or reopen a breached account.

Max contracts

The maximum position size is 1 mini contract on $25K, 4 mini on $50K, 8 mini on $100K and 12 mini on $150K.

Max trade loss (1.5%)

The funded realized Max Trade Loss is 1.5% of initial account size: $375 on $25K, $750 on $50K, $1,500 on $100K or $2,250 on $150K. A breach can end the account even when overall results are profitable.

A stop does not guarantee that a loss stays below the cap. Leave room for slippage and do not split related positions to evade risk controls. See Max Trade Loss for calculations and examples.

Overnight and weekend holding

Apex does not permit holding through the daily break or over the weekend. The published Futures holding policy closes positions at 4:50 PM ET (3:50 PM CT), including Friday. The automatic close is not itself a rule violation.

No Best Day Rule

Apex has no Best Day (consistency) rule. A single strong day does not hold back your payout, as long as the other payout conditions below are met.

Payout conditions

Every payout request, including the first, has to meet these conditions:

  • At least 14 days have passed since the account started (first payout) or since your previous payout (later payouts).

  • At least 5 trading days.

  • You have reached the 6% profit requirement for the current payout segment: $1,500 on $25K, $3,000 on $50K, $6,000 on $100K, $9,000 on $150K.

  • All positions closed at the time of the request.

  • A minimum payout of $50 (before the account’s profit split).

You keep up to 100% of your profit, up to the payout cap for that payout (below).

Payout structure: caps by account size

Apex uses the same payout caps as Vanguard Futures. Each payout is capped by account size and payout number. The final tier continues on later payouts; the cap does not become unlimited.

$2,500

How the cap works: the cap is a ceiling on a single payout, not a limit on your total profit. Profit above the cap stays in your account and can be withdrawn on a later payout. You move to the next tier only once a payout is fully approved.

Example on a $50K account. After 14 days and at least 5 trading days, you have $3,400 of profit, above the $3,000 (6%) requirement. Your first payout is capped at $750 and the rest stays in the account. Payouts 2 and 3 are capped at $1,000, and from your fourth payout the cap is $1,500.

For the caps of all Futures programs, see Futures payout structure.

Payout processing fees

For current payout methods and processing fees, see How to request a payout. Review the quoted fee before confirming.

Inactivity

An account is closed after 14 calendar days without trading activity. The clock starts at purchase and resets when you close a trade. An unfilled order does not reset it. Inactivity closures cannot be reversed.

Common questions

How is Apex different from Vanguard?

Apex has no Best Day (consistency) rule. It uses a 3% EOD trailing drawdown, a contract limit per size, needs at least 5 trading days before a payout and pays out every 14 days. Its payout caps are the same as Vanguard.

Is there a profit target?

Not to get funded. To request a payout, you need 6% profit in the current payout segment.

When can I take my first payout?

From 14 days after the account starts, once you have at least 5 trading days, 6% profit, all positions closed and at least $50 to withdraw.

How much can I withdraw per payout?

Up to the cap for your account size and payout number. On $100K, the first payout is capped at $1,200, payouts 2–4 at $2,000, and payout 5 onward at $3,000.

What breaches the account?

Breaching the active EOD floor, the daily loss limit (from $50K up) or the 1.5% Max Trade Loss can end the account.

What is my profit split?

Up to 100%. You keep up to 100% of your profit, within the payout cap for each payout.
